McCarthy Cabins. An amazing place to stay in McCarthy-Kennicott.

The Basics

• Cozy Comfort – Each of our three log cabins has a kitchenette, private shower house, well-maintained outhouse, comfy bedding, and more.

• Private Setting – Each cabin sits on its own property, surrounded by beautiful Alaska wilderness.

• Easy Access – You can drive right up to your cabin. (A vehicle is required; we can’t accommodate fly-in or shuttle-only guests.)

• No Extra Surprises – Rates include everything—no additional taxes or fees.

• Pack it In, Pack it Out – Please take all food, gear, trash, and belongings with you when you leave.

• Smoke-Free & Pet-Free – We love animals, but no pets are allowed. All properties are smoke-free.

Check-In & Stay Details

• 2-night minimum (3 nights over July 4th weekend).

• Check-in: 4–7 pm. Late arrivals (7–8 pm) incur a $50 fee; no check-ins after 8 pm.

Swift Creek Cabin, $195+ per night

Swift Creek Cabin

Nestled on nearly 8 acres of stunning Alaska wilderness, Swift Creek Cabin offers breathtaking views of the Chitina River Valley and the Chugach Mountains. The property has two charming 12’ x 16’ log cabins—one is my home, and the other is yours to enjoy.

Rates & Capacity

• $195 per night for 1–2 guests

• $25 per night for an additional guest (sleeps up to 3)

• 1 double bed + 1 twin bed in a cozy mini-loft

• Beautiful valley & mountain views

• Mini-kitchenette with two-burner cooktop (best for simple meals)

• Basic kitchen supplies: pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc.

• Charging station for small devices*

• Filtered drinking water + non-potable water for dishes/showers

There’s no refrigerator, but coolers with ice packs work great!

Bluff Cabin, $295+ per night

Bluff Cabin

Perched on over 20 acres of stunning Alaska wilderness, Bluff Cabin boasts breathtaking views of the Kennicott River and Chitina River Valley.

Rates & Capacity

• $295 per night for 1–2 guests

• $25 per night for each additional guest (up to 5 guests total)

• Sleeps up to 5:

  • Loft with queen bed (steep, ladder-style stairs—best for sure-footed guests)

  • Downstairs bedroom with twin bunk beds

  • Couch in the living room for an additional guest

• Wood stove for heat (firewood provided)

• Kitchenette with small propane fridge & 4-burner stove (no oven)

Meadow Cabin

Set on over 10 acres of peaceful Alaska wilderness, Meadow Cabin offers a quiet retreat with partial mountain views and a cozy, homey feel.

Rates & Capacity

• $245 per night for 1–2 guests

• $25 per night for each additional guest (up to 4 guests total)

• Sleeps up to 4:

  • Loft with queen bed (fairly steep, ladder-style stairs—best for sure-footed guests)

  • Queen hideaway couch bed downstairs (plus foam pad for extra comfort)

• Kitchenette with small propane fridge & 2-burner cooktop (no oven)

• Check-in: 4–7 pm (late check-in between 7–8 pm is $50; no arrivals after 8 pm)

• Check-out: 11 am

• Cancellation Policy:

  • 90+ days: $50 cancellation fee

  • 90–60 days: 50% refund

  • Less than 60 days: 100% penalty

• Trip Insurance: We recommend purchasing trip insurance to protect your travel investment.
